Hello, I’m Shannon, welcome to my MEd (TLib) blog.

I’m based in Tasmania, where I grew up on a small sheep farm, went to uni and now live, but I’ve also lived in Japan, Melbourne and Toronto. In fact, I lived overseas for 11 years before finally returning home in October 2013.

I’ve been teaching senior secondary English here since 2014. Before that, I worked a variety of jobs including in admin, publishing and conversational English teaching (no guesses as to which I was doing for three years in Japan!).

As a place and a metaphor, libraries capture who I am quite nicely: quiet and a bit reserved, but also cheerful and bustling. Friendly and yearning to know more, help others and share stories. Steady and keen on routines, but content when surrounded by others also enjoying the space.
