Dinosaurs vs. Mammals

Are school librarians an endangered species?

A certain type of school librarian is an endangered species, and I think Karen Bonanno (along with many others) would say this is a good thing. The problem is allowing the stereotype of the school librarian who considers her primary job to be to guard books and shush students to dominate; this species is ready to join the dinosaurs in extinction. The librarian who sees her job as multifaceted and who makes herself and her library indispensable in the face of new educational and technological advances is ready to take over, like the adaptable mammals who flourished after the dinosaurs became extinct.
