One of the most confusing parts of my assessments is keeping track of my useful sources. I have tried a few different ways – printing out useful journal articles, using Endnote, making notes in a book and on my laptop, but I have always ended up confused. I remember reading something from somewhere…who wrote that? I can’t find it. The process of looking for that one source could take me an hour to find.
I am currently reading Guided Inquiry Design (Kuhlthau, Maniotes & Caspari, 2012, p. 45) and the idea of an inquiry log is very appealing to me. I can relate to the usefulness of recording valuable resources. After finding them, reading and analysing them, it is a shame to potentially lose it if I haven’t correctly recorded them. I am going to start a google doc recording my inquiry logs for different subjects areas and for different assessments.
I had come across some excellent resources for the unit I am researching for my assessment. I had been thinking of how to keep track of those as well. Then Liz sent an email suggesting Flipgrid. I have never used this before but I am definitely going to check it out.
