In a school setting, cooperative relations with all levels of the school help to ensure collegian respect and unity in the education environment. Ann Conte states that Catholic Schools Offices (CEOs) have the ability to unite the community, students and staff in the learning of students, however they also have the overarching ability to cause dissatisfaction and resentment towards those in the CEO.

Several communication methods exist within schools. Rena Rusit identifies email as being a high flow method of communication. Emails are used as a communication method from all levels of educational authorities. Having open communication available allows for workplace relations to be productive. Isolating through sectioning of different faculties and types of workers can cause ineffective working methods and relations can be filled with tension. Creating a free flowing space that allows communication to happen without serious constraint can improve relationships in the workplace.
