  • School Libraries are full of people with various skills and abilities, as TLs we need to be able to utilise the skills and abilities of others to best assist student learning.
  • School Libraries are an opportunity for the sharing of knowledge, this can only be done when people are given the opportunity to “create, judge, imagine and build relationships” (Colvin, 2000).
  • School Library workers must be encouraged to work effectively and given the means and opportunity to do so.
  • Technology can be used to make learning possible.

The “workers” in the library are skilled in many areas. As a TL we are responsible for showing those we are “in charge of” how to best help improve student learning. The TL must be human-centred, in that their core roll is with people, caring for resources is secondary.
