Scoop.it, Pinterest, LiGuides

Scoop.it and Pinterest I found rather frustrating as those Libraries (in Australia) that had been utilising these services were no longer utilising/updating them. Scoop.it I have found to be clunky, in that a general search will find you items however unless you specifically know the person/user you are trying to follow. Scoop.it provides a collection of articles, websites and ideas along with the posters ideas about the topic. Scoop.it is limiting in the fact that as an individual you are very limited in the amount you can post or pay for additional pages or ‘scoops’. Pinterest in particular is fantastic for display ideas and accessing resources to purchase. Both can be used effectively when maintained. Libguides is something I had not encountered before, its continual updates of resources and information assist those with access to make informed choices on their chosen resources. However it is not open to the public and only those who have access to it through the institution are able to access more details of the resources.
