Abstract

The main concern about the blockchain was scalability in recent years. The researchers apprise that sharding is one of the best and successful solutions for this problem. The elementary idea of sharding is dividing blockchain network into multiple committees. Every committee creates a distinct set of transactions. In this paper, I am proposing a mathematical model for analysing the security of sharding-based blockchains protocols. Using the created model I hope to analyse RapidChain, OmniLedger, and Zilliga sharding protocols to validate the model.

The main aim of this project is analysing failure probability bound and measure the system security using the failure probability. In the other hands, I hope to provide a solution to keep the failure probability lower than the threshold value which means Make sure that the probability of failure is smaller than the given threshold.
