5G is the fifth generation technology for cellular networks. Its development began in 2019 and is being rolled out continously. It is currently the fastest mobile network which provides speed of upto 2 Gbps. It uses the frequencies between 24 to 72. However, the penetration power of 5G signals is less than 4G signals due to which more antennas are required to cover less area.

The fast data transfer speed will enable many things like Internet of Things (IOT) and Edge computing.The low latency will help massively in clould gaming. With so much promise, this technology definitely looks to be very interesting. Whether it can live up to its promise or not is yet to be seen.
