When I first viewed a picture book which was also a wordless book (that was not for a baby), some three and a half years ago I was unsure how this could be used in teachig literature in school. But as I sat down to “read” the picture book again with my daughter I spent the time explaining each image, I realised that the images were there to provoke the readers imagination. It prompted me to reconsider books and the impact they can have.
Check out “Flotsam” by David Wiesner, it is my all time favourite wordless book.
