Ready access to information has become part of the essential components of work and life in society today.
Three benefits to the ready access to information are:
- Remaining up to date with new and current information.
- Access to a way of publishing information (findings, data, etc.)
- Immediate answers to the unknown which can change us, at the very least change our knowledge and understanding. This can also include immediate access to work and working from home as a result.
Three negatives to the ready access to information are:
- The spreading of false information is more easily achieved
- People expect an immediate response (emails, web chats, etc expected to be checked regularly and responded to immediately)
- A work-life balance becomes unbalanced, with work coming into the home via the information being readily accessible. People are struggling to disconnect.
