About Me
I’m a Roof Plumber and aspiring secondary school technology and applied studies teacher.
I have just commenced my first semester with Charles Sturt and am enrolled in The Bachelor of Education (Secondary) – Industry Entry.
I’m 33 years old and currently reside Rozelle in Sydney’s inner west.
The focus of my professional life so far has been within the construction industry. I completed my apprenticeship in roof plumbing in 2006 and have since held various positions ranging from Tradesman to Managing Director. I’ve also more recently completed a diploma in project management. I enjoy working with my hands and tools and being creative. I hold an interest in Victorian and Federation architecture and have spent much of my career working in the restoration of these buildings within Sydney’s The Rocks on behalf of the NSW Government. While my career thus far has been a brilliant experience, I have made the decision to move into a new field and gain new experiences and knowledge.
I have chosen to enrol in the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) as I’m an aspiring Technology and Applied Studies teacher with the focus on wood and metal. I enjoy teaching people, helping them learn, and feel that I have a lot to offer in this field through my experience. I’m also looking forward to the learning experience of completing my studies. I left high school in year 10 and have never felt satisfied with my education and academic skill level. I truly can’t wait for this experience and all that it will bring.
I’m a friendly person who loves music, surfing and the great outdoors. On completion of my studies my wife and I have plans to move to Northern NSW to escape the hectic Sydney lifestyle.
Chris.
