  • 1988-2001, Victorian Department of Natural Resources and Environment (and predecessor agencies including secondment to Agriculture Victoria) Information extension and planning officer: supporting best practice private land management, including soil conservation, vegetation, salinity, riparian management, pasture agronomy, community development, Landcare, whole farm planning and program evaluation
  • 1986-1988, South Australian Department of Agriculture. Mallee soil conservation officer: employed under the National Soil Conservation Program to help restore drifting sand dunes on private land, and promote conservation tillage
