An Introduction
My Name is Adrian Grabham. I live in Bathurst NSW. I am Happily married to my wife Tracey and a Father of three boys – Noah (13), Nate (9) and Max (2). I enjoy spending time with my family. In my spare time I am a volunteer Firefighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service and also compete as a Rally Navigator for gravel events in the forests of NSW. This has always been a passion of mine and something I always enjoy being around even if I am not competing. Check out some of our rally footage here-
My career has led me on a few paths, I began as an apprentice motor mechanic in 1998 and completed a Certificate III in Automotive (Light vehicle Mechanical). I went on to be a Service Advisor in the same Car Dealership and eventually was promoted as a Service Manager at the young age of 23.
After 11 years in the Automotive industry, I sought a change of career and therefore gained a position at the Roads & Maritime Services as a Compliance Operations Inspector. I undertook a Certificate IV in Road Transport Compliance (Government). I perform duties based on compliance issues involving heavy vehicle usage in NSW including Roadworthiness, Fatigue, Maintenance, Load restraint & Weight. I am still currently employed in this role. My prior work history and education can be viewed in more detail on my LinkedIn profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/adrian-grabham-608276112/
I completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Certificate IV in Frontline Management. It was at this point in my career that my passion for education and training evolved.
I am a qualified Driving Instructor and Facilitator for a driving school in Bathurst NSW. Check us out at Calare Academy of Road Safety, http://calare.com.au/ Better known as CARS! We teach learner drivers to drive and to be safe responsible road users by providing learner lessons, safer driver courses. We facilitate the local Rotary road safety programs called RYDA. We also coordinate corporate safe driving techniques workshops.
As part of my involvement in the Rural Fire Service over the last twenty years , I have developed many life skills and I have often been in situations that required quick and efficient decisions to be made in difficult circumstances. I have become an instructor and Assessor in all aspects of firefighting. I tend to specialise in Breathing apparatus (BA), Rural Fire Driving (RFD) and Advanced Structural Firefighting (ASF)
I am very much looking forward to what the future holds for me in the Adult and Vocational education sector
