In a recent quiz, I did during my study at University on connecting Online I got intermediate, showing that I am reasonably skilled in connecting online. Which I find pretty accurate, I know my way around the internet pretty well yet I feel I have a lot more to potentially learn. I am constantly on my phone (it is my life support) as well as constantly being on my laptop either socializing, gaming or even using basic video streaming sites such as Netflix and stan.
Nowadays online is not just for fun socialization, it is also a very helpful tool that can help with education and career networking. In the past, I have used many apps to contact colleagues to discuss work events, call in sick, as well as just using social media to get to know them better. This has been really efficient in the past as I believe the more you know about your co-workers the better you work together. As well as the workplace, it has been helpful to communicate with your peers online. I currently have multiple online groups that are incredibly helpful with work tasks as well as just keeping in contact in case someone misses a class and needs to catch up. One of the main benefits of social media is that you can connect with people all over the world. You can send them messages on all forms of social media, and they can respond from wherever they are in the world. This ability to communicate efficiently with people overseas is also very convenient for those who do business. Social media platforms provide a cheap, easy way to interact with your customers or clients, who are across the world. Being active in social media is also a great way to learn new things. Social media is the way that you hear the news, and it’s the way that news is spread. Staying connected to social media is just like staying connected to life. It is a space to share anything you would like including your opinion on anything and everything. For example, you can build a sports community, and you can learn about the sports that you love. You can build communities around whatever other topics you’d like. Social media can enhance your life. It will give you the chance to communicate, connect and be involved.
In my previous experience of using online networks, you have the ability to find so many people with similar interests as you. You can even connect with people who are also wanting to go in the same profession as you. I’ve found many communities where girls can bond over similar interests and have a nice and artistic space to share their creativity. The internet has become an amazing place to support each other and bond over mutual interests I have also found a lot of new friends very easily over basic forms of social media such as Instagram, Facebook and especially Snapchat. Within my recent university study, I’ve also recently had to create a Profesional LinkedIn profile as a part of my first assessment. I found it quite different from standard social media as it was very professional and was a bit tricky at first to find my way around it but I managed to complete it in the end and learn a lot from the process. LinkedIn also proved to e a very useful site to reach out to many professionals in your dream field as well as being easy to reach out to other students as well. Moving forward I look forward to finding many more ways to connect online to improve my studies as well as use it professionally in the future
