Survey for University Employees

Charles Sturt University logo

You are invited to participate in a short research survey on student trauma and staff trauma awareness in higher education. The study is being conducted by Distinguished Professor Sarah O’Shea and Dr Maree Martinussen from the Higher Education Equity Research Unit at Charles Sturt University.

Why your input matters
Experiences of trauma can significantly affect student success at university. While anyone can experience trauma, students from equity backgrounds have higher prevalence rates. With over one in four Australians experiencing complex trauma, your insights can help us better understand how universities can respond in more inclusive, trauma-informed approaches.

Participants in this study
Any employee of an Australian university who delivers, or is responsible for, teaching, supervising or supporting students, including academic and professional staff is invited to participate. Staff employed on any kind of contract are welcome to participate. We are interested in understanding the views and perspectives of staff with all levels of familiarity—including those with little or no prior knowledge—of trauma and trauma-informed practice.

Before deciding whether or not you wish to participate in this study, it is important to understand why the research is being done and what it will involve.
Please download and read the full Participant Information Statement.
