Migalarbar. My name is Theingi. I am a mother and a wife, and live with my family in Sydney.
My learning journey has taken place in many countries including Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Australia. I have also lived in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea where I ran a little laboratory. I wore the hats of lab technician, research assistant and NAATI certified interpreter before I decided to embark into teaching. My first degree was in Science. I also have postgraduate degrees in Information Technology and Education. As you can see my learning journey still is not at an end.
Currently, I am the TL at a primary school in Sydney NSW. I have been in the role for 3 years. At first it was a job share opportunity, but this year I am flying solo. As the TL of my school, I have done the following so far:
- Delivered library lessons across K-6
- Unpacked and delivered the Digital technology component of the Science syllabus across all stages
- Ran the coding club for ‘Library at Lunchtime ‘activities.
- Used the Oliver system to deliver system needs to the school community
- Developed the collection
- Managed the collection
- Coordinated Scholastic book Fairs
- Created Book Week activities
- Coordinated the Premier’s Reading Challenge
- Trained and mentored library monitors
My experience so far has shown me to expect the unexpected. The library is a growing adapting organism. I would like mine to fly. I have perceived it’s wings.
