Collection management
‘Collection management’ is more of an umbrella term that “includes collection development and an expanded suite of decisions about weeding, cancelling serials/journals, storage, and preservation. Also of concern in collection management are the organization and assignment of responsibilities for its practice”
(Johnson, 2009)
Information Literacy
The ability to locate, manage and use information to create information products using a variety of inquiry methods is an essential component of any information literacy program. (…) Essential skills for contemporary learners are the ability to: * critically analyse their information needs * identify appropriate sources and synthesise * curate and re-imagine the information to construct personal knowledge,

Metadata:
“Metadata is information about the information you possess. Teacher librarians know that personalised, effective metadata saves time and energy. When the library catalogue has quality metadata, teachers and students find what they need with one or two clicks.”

“As a product, information resource description is quite often referred to as metadata, which literally means data about data (Hilder, 2018, p. 4)
Terms such as ‘cataloguing’, ‘bibliographic data’, ‘indexing’, ‘tagging’, ‘archival description’ and ‘museum documentation’ are commonly employed in particular contexts (Hilder, 2018, p. 6).

ScOT
The Schools Online Thesaurus (ScOT) provides a controlled vocabulary of terms used in Australian and New Zealand schools. It encompasses all subject areas as well as terms describing educational and administrative processes. The thesaurus links non-preferred terms to curriculum terms.
