Middle Temple Library

The Middle Temple Library is a law library housed in the law precinct of London that is used by legal professionals who have offices in the buildings known as the Middle Temple.  This part of London sounds like it belongs to a church, but it is a legal precinct named after the Knights Templar (yes they sound familiar if you have read Dan Brown) who owned the land 150 years before the law precinct was settled. We may also be able to visit the Temple Church if it is open when we are there. If you are interested in this part of London you may like to read some more about it here: https://www.middletemple.org.uk/about-us

Here is how they describe themselves:

Middle Temple Library is open to all members of the four Inns of Court. For those who are unable to access the library in person, we also offer a document delivery service. As it is a private library we are not open to the general public. The Library holds approximately 250,000 volumes covering all aspects of British, European and American law.

We are very fortunate to have been allowed access to the library and its staff. We will be visiting the Middle Temple Library at 10:00am on Thursday 27 August.
