Parliamentary Archives

The Parliamentary Archives

The Parliamentary Archives are responsible for the archives of the UK Parliament. They are housed in Parliament House and we have been lucky enough to have their agreement to visit and see the archive, and to meet with the archivists to learn about their work and collections.

Here is how they describe themselves:

The Parliamentary Archives collects, preserves and makes accessible the records of UK Parliament. We provide a records management service for the House of Commons and House of Lords and operate a free public archives service.

They also have a great Twitter feed that highlights fascinating things from their collections. You can follow them at @UKParlArchives and learn more about them at their homepage: https://www.parliament.uk/business/publications/parliamentary-archives/

We will be visiting on Wednesday 26 at 10:30am. Unfortunately we are only able to take 9 students to this site and the students that do come will need very good mobility to access the site.
