Podcast Reflection
To create this podcast, I began by brainstorming ideas on making the online learners’ framework relevant to my business and future business goals. I then set out writing the script; this proved relatively easy once I got going. Following that, I timed myself speaking through the script to ensure the timing was just a little under 5 minutes, as per the assessment instructions.
To record my first draft, I used the voice memo app on my iPhone; this proved inefficient for importing into the editing software I chose to use – Audacity. So, then I set out to re-recording my script directly into Audacity on my PC. I found Audacity quite challenging to use at first, but I imagine it would be a handy tool with more practice. Once I was happy with my recording, I found a track on a creative common’s website, Free Music Archive, to attach to the beginning and end of my recording. I then found an image on Pixabay, a creative commons website for images, for my thumbnail. Using these creative commons websites proved very easy. Then I edited my recording, overlaying the music onto the voice recording using Audacity.
I then uploaded my finished, edited recording onto Soundcloud and attached my thumbnail. I already had an account here, so it was an easy choice to utilise this site. I had one final listen before writing my reflection and adding all this to my blog on CSU Thinkspace.
In conclusion, this assessment has helped me overcome my nerves recording myself and has opened my eyes to more tools to utilise online.
