With the final report completed, and the presentation ready for review, this will be my final post. This too will be my last assessment submitted with the university. Despite being in the industry for many years, and studying for a large number of those, this project has surprised me in that you can ‘still teach an old dog new tricks’ and the importance of continuous learning. I’ve found this project has challenged me in ways I did not predict, and other tasks that I may have been dreading were quite interesting. I did not think I would be interesting in research given I spend a good percentage of my day reviewing documentation. I found it interesting to learn about new concepts and that once ventured down the rabbit hole, it was challenging to keep to the path. I feel I have grown in being able to use my words more carefully and with more value in both written and spoken forms. I found that while the initial thought of a weekly update seemed tiresome, it enables more productivity than what would have occurred if completed in one session. I found that each week my perspective had changed as well, and that influenced the project in a positive light in that I thought outside of the box, and in different ways. Overall a great topic to learn about, with many more opportunities to continue the research. I look forward to seeing if my predictions from week 1 become reality in 10 years to come.
