Week 1: Commencing the project

First week of the project is done, with the project content underway. In the past fortnight, a capstone research topic was chosen – along with a project abstract stating the project problem domain, background on why the research topic was chosen, the aim of the project, what resources would be used to further explore the topic and the specific project deliverables.

Given the other highly technical subjects chosen by peers, I did question if the topic I had chosen was technical enough to be assessed. I contacted the lecturer with my topic, receiving full support to go ahead with this topic. This reassured me that the topic was not so much focusing on upcoming new technology, but on how emerging technology would impact every day real world challenges that industries are facing.

Upon posting within the CSU discussion board, this site was also created – templated around the project deliverables. The delivery of the project outcomes on something like a website, is an interesting platform that I find I am more motivated to engage with rather than the traditional Word document reporting that usually occurs during project-based courses. The irony of this is that this is relatable back to the research topic of this project, technology impacting the learning environment.
