As week 7 commences, this week there is a focus on the literature review for the Future of Flipped Classrooms in Tertiary Education project. Before the literature review can commence, and the annotated bibliography and journal synopsis commenced, there are a few steps to first consider.
Planning the Report:- Firstly, planning the report – identifying what the research requirements are, how they need to be presented to the target audience, and the level of detail required. This would include reading the relevant weekly topics and the subject outline requirements for the annotated bibliography and journal synopsis. The topics were easy to follow and understand, however the subject outline needed to be read a few times to understand what was required.
Prepare Outline:- Once the requirements are understood for what information needs to be captured, formatting etc, focus will be on creating the reporting outline. It was noticed that this was a very common approach for planning not only reports, but other assessment items such as oral presentations. Once the report outline was identified, the research project did not seem as daunting and more achievable in ‘bite sized’ pieces.
Distilling Ideas:- Lastly, this week would also focus on the ideas to be presenting within the report – identifying what would be included in the research that could later be researched more, any unanswered or open questions, and the overall logical sequencing of information. This last activity was the most challenging, trying to understand how the reader would be able to easily follow the logical flow of research.
