About Me

Hi, I’m Kristy!

I am a Functional Systems Lead with over 10 years experience working in the mining, health, education, insurance and telecommunications industries.

Within my various teams over the years, my role was to assist with enabling businesses to operate in a stable environment, assist them to grow and transform as emerging technology becomes available.

The reason for choosing this research topic is both of a personal and professional nature. After experiencing this new-aged approach to delivering tertiary education in my third year at another university – I was introduced to a learning environment created purely from the utilisation of available technologies. A learning environment that changes the way in which we interact with the university providing our education, I often wondered throughout the semester if this is what the world would look like in 10 years’ time. Would there no longer be students in campuses? How would technology play a role in our social ecosystem?

From a professional stance, as having recently been welcomed to join a university program advisory board for science, engineering and information technology, when asked to provide my experience and knowledge about how student curriculum in the future can best be planned in a way that is relatable to real world industries, I believe technology plays an integral role in the way that education is shaping future generations. This I am interested to learn more in.
