Assessment item 3 – Original content: Podcast

I picked ways to protect your privacy online as a topic because it relates to the profession I hope to work in in the future. To create this podcast I used Audacity I trimmed the audio files and adjusted the volume levels. I also recorded the narration through Audacity I used bensound.com to source the music and pixabay.com for the image. I embedded the music and narration into the same audio file and exported it as an MP3. after that I uploaded the podcast to SoundCloud along with the image. Then linked the Soundcloud file to this blog.

Assessment item 2 – Original content: Blog post using Thinkspace

The outcome I got for the Digital Online Learner Skills Framework was intrepid intermediate. This suggests confidence in managing my personal learning environment and connecting with people online. A personal learning environment is used in order to leverage social media, devices and apps as well as use other tools to find information and other learners.

This outcome shows that my ability to connect online is somewhat established already with room for improvement.  I have tried to grow my connections with my peers through LinkedIn in our recent learning activity and assessment of connecting to LinkedIn. This can be seen at https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryan-jack-3867741a4/ I also connected with peers from my current course and potential future employers.  LinkedIn was easy to use when it came to connecting with others.

Through creating my LinkedIn profile I have established a digital identity of myself that will benefit when seen by potential employers. LinkedIn will  be a tool I will continue to use to develop my personal learning enviroment. I plan to work on my connecting skills and using different online tools to connect and learn.
