I am married with two beautiful boys (aged 10 and 9) and two old cats. Hailing originally from the UK – Nottingham (Robin Hood, Maid Marion, Sherwood Forest et al) I moved over to Australia in the year 2000 taking up a post as a Ship Operator (Shipping = my ‘first’ career).

Within 5 years I was back at uni studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary). I have been teaching ever since and at the same wonderful little primary school here in Sydney.

As a classroom teacher I have taught years 1, 3 and 5. I was fortunate enough to step into an acting Teacher Librarian role some 5 years ago and have not looked back. I absolutely love what I do and I really want to know how to do it better! Studying for my Masters in Education (Teacher Librarianship) seemed the obvious next step. I have an extremely supportive Executive and teaching staff which has made the decision so much easier.

I have a passion for quality picture books and teaching visual literacy to children of all ages.
