This is the beginning of my Teacher Librarian adventure.

My earliest Library memory takes place in a Western Sydney Library with a small me sitting on the floor and the Librarian reading, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak to my Kindergarten class. I am not sure but I think this may have been my first Library visit, it is the first I remember.

I remember the physical features of the library, blonde brick, a curved wall, stained glass, and itchy carpet. More importantly, my calico Library bag was always taken with excitement to school on library day, and I encountered more wild people and ideas.

Libraries are places of discovery and community where everyone can happen upon wild people, wild ideas, and themselves.
