This site is dedicated to Percy Grainger, an unusual yet underrated Australian composer.
My first experience with Grainger was playing his music in my Wind Orchestra at the Conservatorium of Music Newcastle NSW and I fell in love with his music right away. I believe he deserves more recognition than he gets.
His unusual addiction to self-flagellation and his exceptional closeness with his mother often overshadow his contributions to music, especially those of transcribing and arranging folk music.
