After reviewing the evidence guide for teacher librarians at the proficient stage, I believe reflection is a pivotal piece of evidence across all of the standards. Whether reflection is achieved through lesson planners, anecdotal notes, logs, setting goals and visual evidence, it all encourages the teacher librarian to review their teaching practice and continuously adapt in order to fulfill the standards. The undertaking of professional development is also a key feature of evidence-based standard fulfillment. Teacher librarians who are consistently attending professional development may find their practice improve as they are adding and altering to their practice using new and innovative ideas. Now more than ever, teachers and teacher librarians alike are encouraged to drive their teaching practice by regularly collecting data on student achievement and this is reflected in the evidence guide, especially standards 3 and 5. The evidence guide provided is an invaluable tool that teacher librarians can use in order in ensure their teaching practice is suited to modern educational standards.
