Hi I’m Michaela,

I’m a Primary trained teacher who recently moved to Brisbane from rural NSW’s (mid Covid 2020, and newly married) to follow my husband who is completing his PhD in Mathematics. So far I’m loving Brisbane, albeit I am still trying to wrap my head around constant noise of traffic and the warmer weather (I’m a cold climate girl).  I’ve just returned to work, as I’ve been on extended personal leave for the past year. Currently I work as an educational coach, tutoring with an elite company, for students who are gifted and talented. When I am not working I am writing or crafting or gardening (or keeping my husband sane :p). Ideally, I’d love to get back into a school and would be overjoyed if I was able to get a TL job. I am close to the end of my MoE/TL which is exciting. In addition to my Bachelor degree, I also hold a Grad Dip in Creative Writing and plan to one day finish my masters in this and publish some of my work.

Something random about me … I am a high functioning agorophobic. It makes life interesting, that’s for sure. I also love Buffy, dinosaurs, unicorns, mermaids, Grill’d, sparkles, Marvel, and bacon. I’m not your regular 30 year old 🙂 Just a big kid really.
