Forum 4.2: Leading change

In 2024, my principal approached me about redesigning parts of the library. It was quite outdated and didn’t flow. The circulation desk was huge and took up way too much space.
With my background and understanding of technology and flexilbe spaces, I was able to redesign a space that can always be changed and improved upon.
The principal displayed distributed leadership whereby she asked for me to design it and was happy to go along with my choices. I, as the TL, showed Transformative leadership as I was able to completely change and redesign the space.
The reaction from staff and students was of excitement and joy! They all loved the changes and for a time students would love to come in and see whats changed this week. This created a buzz for the library, its spaces, books and even displays.
The outcome of this change was dramatic but exciting.
