Does always having a digital citizenship mean being a proactive learner while behaving ethically? I strongly believe it does. To fully understand why I support this statement, we need to break it down. Let us find out what digital citizenship, proactive learning and ethics mean.
Having a digital citizenship mean “The practice of using the internet and technology safely, responsibly and respectfully. Best practices for responsible technology use, techniques, and strategies. For responsible use of social media and technology, the ability to think critically and discern what is positive to share online and should be kept positive. Finally, protecting private information, respecting yourself and others, staying safe, giving proper credit when using other peoples work and balancing the time spent online and offline. Well, being proactive means, you get things done and you use your initiative. It means being responsible and taking charge of yourself, work, and education. This means you complete your set tasks, assignments, assessments, texts, exams, modules, studies and all the rest that comes with education. “Traditional ethics concern relationships between individuals, and corporate ethics between companies and customers. Digital ethics blend these to apply to any two (or more) parties interacting online”. If you were not to follow other digital ethics, while learning you would not be proactive or using your digital citizenship correctly. Always be aware of your safety, be aware of things such as your privacy. Copyright and legal events, such as government sites, requirements for using their information and referencing information. Make sure you remember your personal code and conductor etiquette. Always be respectful and polite online. Practicing ethics and being a proactive learner can look like having respectable habits, respecting everyone, being on top of the game, paying attention to your digital footprint, looking closely at your learning habits. Take charge of yourself and your learning. Respect everyone, online, always.
Communication and collaborating online are some ways to prove your ethics are correctly being performed online. These can show how you are performing in a proactive way, whilst using a digital citizenship correctly. Practice netiquette, the correct and suitable way to behave online. Acknowledge other people’s point of view. Respect their opinions, its okay for them to be differently minded and opinionated. This shows great ethical power. You are also being proactive by not creating unnecessary negativity. Make sure to use your emotions. Online, it can be hard to show your emotions. You need to be careful how you send messages, leave comments, send emails and any other form of communication online to people. You can come across in many many emotions. Use emoticons, or emojis, in messages, comments, emails and other forms of online communication. These are icons that represent emotion. Using them can create good ethical nature and have a proactive outcome.

His can come across as yelling, being loud, rude, and/or obnoxious. You do not want that.
Being proactive and protective of your online identity shows great digital citizenship skills. Make sure you are able manage your own digital identity. Having a safe and clean digital identity is an important part of behaving ethically online. Make sure your digital identity and digital footprint are clean. When interacting digitally, always communicate with empathy and authenticity. This can help deter your attention from negative and unwanted emails, comments, messages, and unintentional online platform interactions. Make sure your messages are always clean, clear, and precise. Sending mixed messages online can have mixed implications. This can prove ethically challenging; therefore, you must keep them clean, clear, and precise.
To be a proactive learner, (digitally), follow written texts, like discussions, messages, emails, comments and other feedback and media sites. Keep your social media sites clean, safe, and professional. This is ethical and safe. While being a proactive and ethical, asynchronous, and synchronous while occur in your learning. Asynchronous learning is not occurring or existent in the current time. This could be a recording, a work sheet, a pre-recorded message, anything that is not currently happening. Synchronous is things that are happening live, in current time. This is like a live call, a joint project, a live feed, anything that is live, being looked as its being done.
Being ethical and proactive learners is very simple while having a digital citizenship. All the above reasons, messages, information and infographics state that.
