Assessment 3 -Original content: Podcast

For Assessment 3 in Digital Literacy, we were asked to complete a podcast and write a short reflection. To do this, I started by Brainstorming what area of the wine industry I thought would make for an interesting podcast. Upon consideration, I decided on wine tastings, as it has a natural conversation-like element to it. From there, I was onto sound samples. After scouring the internet to find samples of clinking glass and pouring liquid, I came to realise that I didn’t like the samples available. For example, the sample I found of pouring liquid was as if to fill a cup, whereas I only wanted a tasting size, so with some water and a wine glass, I made my own sample. For the Blanc to Blanc I used soda water to create the sound effect and clinked wine bottles together for cheers; I created almost all my own samples aside from a morning birds’ sample, which I found on YouTube. I found I didn’t need to read off anything for the podcast, so I just made some dot points. Once complete I started on creating my thumbnail which I made through Adobe Illustrator, I wanted it to be as original as possible, so only used the one photo of the vines from David Bartus who posted on Pexels.
