Each has a symbol next to them to help you select the reading level, from easy to hard. When you see all three symbols, it means you have a choice.

This YouTube video is an introduction to the difference between living and non-living things. Find out what living things need to grow and survive and what classifies as non- living.
Behind the News is a program aimed at delivering the news to kids. Use the tabs to navigate to stories. Relevant stories to begin your search, include ‘Food Source’, ‘Cotton Cows’ and ‘What’s on your plate?’ You may find searching under subject topics and learning areas to be helpful.
Epic is an online digital reading platform. There are many informative resources to read and listen to. You can use a search filter which helps you limit your search to things that are more suited to you, including filtering by age, reading level and format. Epic requires a class code which is located on the wall behind the computer area.
First Learn is a website for kids to learn about Science, Mathematics and English. The great thing about this website is that there are tabs on the side of the page that you can use to help find information suited to your reading level. Search this site using the terms ‘uses of plants’ and ‘uses of animals’. If you find the information too hard to read from one grade, try the same search terms in a different grade.
Bio-Benefits is a webpage all about biodiversity. When you see a link with a red star it takes you to a fact card with a topic summary, which is brief explanation of the topic. The fact cards also contain stories and quiz questions.
National Geographic is a well known publisher of information, photographs and videos about the world. Kids National Geographic has articles which may have their own glossary to learn the meaning of words. Begin by searching terms such as pollination, insect life cycles, amphibians and biodiversity.
Kids News is an Australian news article website. News articles cover current news and general interest stories. The news article ‘Celebrating Australia’s Busy Bees on World Bee Day’ highlights the importance of bees for plants and food production.
