Search engines are used to help you find information on the internet.
You are familiar with searching on the internet using Google. It is the most commonly used search engine in the world.
But did you know that there are many other search engines?
There are even search engines that are just for kids! You may find that kids search engines are easier for you when using the internet to search for information.
Why are kids search engines better for me to use?
- The results that come up have text that is easier for you to read.
- The information is age appropriate.
- The font and the search pictures (called thumbnails) are larger.
- There are filters to help to keep you safe.

Kiddle is a student friendly safe search engine designed just for kids. In their about statement they state that the .co in the title stands for children only and that the results for each online query are organised into three categories.
- The first 1-3 results are pages are just written for kids.
- The next 4-7 results are not just for kids, but still have easier content.
- The results from around number 8, are written for adults and have harder content. Even those these results are harder for kids, they might suit your reading level.
How to use
You can search using kiddle.co. There is a white search bar with 6 tabs labelled web, facts, images, kimages, news and videos. The initial search is always a web search. You can change the search by using the tabs. For example you can type life cycles into the search bar and click facts to learn facts about life cycles, or videos to watch videos about life cycles.
