Book Trailers and Book Bentos
I have used Book Trailers in library lessons this year with Year 9 in a unit involving each student choosing a book that has been made into a film or series. Students created the trailers on the canva platform, alongside a new book cover design of their own. These activities allowed them to demonstrate their literary learning; which was engaging for their peers. I publicised the achievement by wall displays and a digital slide slow on screen beside the library check in/out counter.
I love the creative book bento boxes. These would be great for visual learners; and it has an impact on the viewing audience to want to question why the creator has chosen the items in the bento in relation to the book. I can imagine my classes enjoying these activity and it inspiring personal conversations about students deeper connections with the books featured in the book bentos.
