General reference sources

Scan through these sources to get you started on your research. Before defining your topic, browse the glossary and index pages to get an idea of the scope in this topic.

Consider:

  • making a list of  the names of some of the explorers.
  • what is it that lead them to journey across the oceans?
  • What was life like for Indigenous Australians before European settlement?
  • What did the explorers expect or hope to do when they arrived?
