To start your research use the words in the glossary to help you understand different aspects of exploration. This may help you get a clearer understanding of what parts of the explorations interests you.

What aspects of exploration interestes you?
Is it the vessels they sailed on?
Is it the excitement of the unkown?
Do you wonder how they could have sailed without satellite navigation? What did they use to help them navigate across the oceans?
empires: a group of nations or peoples under one ruler or government.
expedition: a journey taken for a reason, or a group taking such a trip.
Indigenous: having origin in a country or locality.
navigation: the act of setting a course for or controlling a ship or aircraft.
perspective: the way things are seen from a particular point of view.
reconciliation: the process of bringing into agreement or consistency.
trade route: any route regularly followed by traders in ships, caravans, or the like.
treaty: a formal agreement between two or more countries.
