The following issues or challenging that I have found in 5g technology by reading 17 research papers:
Research issues
nowadays the advancement of IOT devices require a very high speed network to connect massive amount of devices that is possible with 5G but 5G has also some challenges and or issues that are given below:
2.1. Coverage and deployement
5g technology could be expensive to establish huge infrastructure at vast areas. The locations that cannot be covered with 5G technology can lead to serious probles for example, if autonomous vehicle is travelling towards rural area that can loose connection and cannot get real time information of location or waring signs that could be a cause of death (Kiss, Reale, Ferrari, & Istenes, 2018).
2.2. Security and privacy issues
5G technology can face many security and privacy issues because it is based on cloud based technologies such as Network Function Virtulization (NFV) and software Defined Network (SDN). These technology are open source source, flexible and programable technologies that are connected with internet and accessed by vast number of users (Kiss et al., 2018). Due to its open source nature, the vulnerabilities in network are high (Siddiqi, Khoso, & Aziz, 2017).
- Data transmission at Constant speed:
In 5G technology, a huge number of devices are connected with network and that require a large amount of data transmission at same speed to continous the service but due to a huge load the transmission speed could be slow that could be issue in IOT applications.(Rahimi et al., 2018).
- Energy Eficiency:
5G network provides multiple services in heterogenous network at different locations to meet the demand of users and it require small cells at base stations for deployment. Although technologies as MIMO and MMwave are used to improve transmission rate and to reduce transmission power but the processing of heavy traffic increase the computation power. So, both need to control simentaneously (Dataesatu, Boonsrimuang, Mori, & Boonsrimuang, 2020).
- Ultra-reliable low latency :
IOT devices require Ultra reliability and low latency services to smoothly run the operations
