Charles Sturt University’s Graduate Certificate in Islam , Culture and Society will position you to add value to any number of industries, including journalism, defence, policing, international relations, teaching, law, public service and psychology.
Who designed the course?
This course has been designed by feld-specific eperts at CISAC and in consultation with the advisory committee which includes representatives from religious studies teaching; prominent interfaith and intercultural organisations; social work, education and police departmentsl and graduates of the course.
What is the study mode?
It is 100% online study. Online study means true flexibility when it comes to your study schedule. And it offers lots of opportunities for connection. You” go on virtual tours of important sites in Islamic history, including the Süleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. You will also participate in online seminars with community leaders working with Muslims.
How much does the course cost?
This is a 4 subject degree and each subject costs $1950 (for 2021)

When can I start studying?
Intakes are offered all year round; sessions start as per below and applications are taken before each session.
- Session 1 2022 (Mar-Jun)

What are the admissions criteria?
Applicants for our postgraduate courses must meet the following requirements:
- A completed Bachelor’s degree (or AQF equivalent)
- English Language Proficiency
- providing evidence of having completed a sufficient standard of study in English
- obtaining Academic IELTS within the last 2 years, with a minimum overall score of 6 and no individual score below 5.5
- obtaining a qualification deemed to be equivalent to Academic IELTS (and its minimum scores) by Charles Sturt University.
How many subjects can I study in one session?
You can study as little as 1 subject per session or a maximum of 4 subjects per session. It all depends on your lifestyle and what else you have going on. We find most students stick with 1 or 2 subjects per session.
