Description of activity
The theme of the activity was “Sci-Fi and Mystery”. The activity was a book fair organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from 17 July 2019 to 23 July 2019. It was open to public. The Book Fair consisted of book selling by exhibitors and diversified cultural activities such as new books release presentation and author sharing.
Reflection of activity
The objective of the Book Fair was to promote local reading culture. I have attended the book fair because I wanted to explore the latest development of e-book. After collecting information from e-book exhibitors, I understood reading e-book nowadays mainly by purchasing or subscription via apps on tablet or e-reader. The other way is to connect with e-book platforms of universities, public and school libraries to let people with access rights can borrow e-books free of charge. The learning outcomes let me know how to choose suitable e-books for my workplace. I will give useful information to the Library Committees for their consideration if they want to provide e-book service.
