Description of activity

The subject area of the activity was about Resource Description and Access (RDA), BIBFRAME and linked data projects. The activity was a three hours seminar with discussion session. It was organized by The Open University of Hong Kong Library. The speaker was Ms. Charlene Chou. The seminar was for local library professionals.

 

Reflection of activity

The objective of the seminar was to provide the updates of RDA, BIBFRAME and linked data projects in United State. I have attended this seminar because I wanted to explore the development of cataloguing. After attending the seminar, I knew the latest development of international metadata standards and projects. Also, I understood the issues when applying RDA to Chinese, Japanese, Korean (CJK) materials. The seminar benefited me to understand the metadata standards when I studied Metadata for Resource Discovery. I will use the presentation content of CJK as references when I need to apply RDA for Chinese materials.
