The Albury Banner and Wodonga Express (1939-1950)
The Express started as a small, four-page publication largely dedicated to advertisements. The first edition appeared on July 7, 1860 and ended in 1939.
In 1939 the paper changed names to The Albury Banner, Wodonga Express and Riverina Stock Journal and, then abbreviated to the Albury Banner from 1949 to 1950.
The Border Morning Mail (1903-1953)
The Border Morning Mail was first published in Albury in October 1903. At first the paper was called The Border Morning Mail and Riverina Times, but abbreviated the title in later years. Today it is known as The Border Mail.

Wodonga and Towong Sentinel (1885-1965)
A publication established by James Ryan and William Oldfield Taylor in Chiltern, Victoria. Ryan’s son, Charles, was a journalist with The Age in Melbourne before becoming the owner/editor of the Sentinel after his father was killed in a railway accident in 1912. The newspaper was sold to the Border Mail in 1965 due to Charles’ ill health.2
