Using the Block Editor

The Block Editor, also known as Gutenberg, uses a block-based approach to developing content on your posts and pages.

Each item you add to your post or page is a block. You can add blocks for each paragraph, images, galleries, videos, audio, list, tables, and more.

The Block Editor enables your to create much more flexible layouts, incorporating text, image and multimedia.

A few key points:

  • Beginning in 2025, CSU Thinkspace has switched to the Block Editor as the default editor for new sites. However, you can switch back to the Classic Editor if you prefer.
  • The Classic Editor was the original WordPress editor and has been used as the default editor on Thinkspace over the last 10 years.
  • To switch from the classic editor to the block editor go to Settings > Writing.
