Welcome to my blog, Growing Young Readers: Teacher Librarian in the Making, which will follow my journey in becoming a teacher librarian.

Living in the urban jungle of Sydney, Australia, I love to escape into a book.

My obsession for picture book began when my son was born. Being a parent has given licence for excessive children’s book collecting.

Now that my apartment is full of books, I need to find a more expansive space. What better place than a library?

With a background in special education, specialising in literacy, it is my life’s mission to ‘put books into the hands of children’. What a privilege to help foster a sense of wonder and imagination in our children, whilst also expanding their minds and developing skills for life.

I’m incredibly excited to begin this journey. I hope you can come along for the ride.
