Audiences were thrilled once again by the 3MT competition and the excitement of hearing 13 of our Graduate Research candidates race the clock to present their doctoral research in just three minutes with one PowerPoint slide!
To make it even trickier they have to use language that a non-expert audience will understand. We all know how difficult that can be. Read more
Once again, our annual DocFest Graduate Research online conference has been a hit with lots of great feedback about both the quality and content of the program.
The stars of the week were our fabulous HDR candidates who inspired us with their research, joined discussion panels, moderated sessions and gave their time to attend and support their peers. Read more

The Postgraduate Scholarships 2024 grant opportunity is now open for applications in Sapphire.

The Victoria Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub is committed to building capacity that enhances the future resilience of farmers and regional communities.
The Vic Hub is offering five awards of $2,000 each to support aspiring research students in the delivery of their research.
Applications must be submitted by close of business 19 April 2024.
Charles Sturt Research will host a Provocations Public Lecture, showcasing new research led by Prof. Alan Cooper, Professor of Evolution and Environmental Change from the Gulbali Research Institute for Agriculture, Water and Environment.
Prof. Cooper will describe how his recent research on ancient human history and genetic selection has led to a new field — evolutionary medicine. Read more
We are delighted to welcome so many new international HDR students and their families to our Charles Sturt campuses this session. We know that settling into a new country, home, school or community can take time and we hope that you are finding the help and support you need. Our International Support team are ready to help out.
Our Mentoring team is also available to connect new HDR students with a local mentor to help with the settling in process. Please contact them by email if you would like this assistance.
Mentors needed
They are also keen to hear from existing HDR students willing to be mentors. An hour or so once a fortnight can make a huge difference to a new student and it’s a great way to build your own skills and networks. We particularly need mentors on Bathurst and Port Macquarie campuses.
