2024 Helping you to get great outcomes from your Higher Degree by Research and to have a rewarding and enriching experience at Charles Sturt is central to the work of the Graduate Research team.
Hearing feedback from you, our students, about that experience is important to us. We love to hear when we get things right for you but equally important to us is hearing how we can do things better.
One of the ways we do this is with our annual Graduate Research Experience Survey (GRES). The GRES is offered to all enrolled HDR candidates in late October each year and asks for your feedback about a range of key areas related to your HDR program. GO TO THE SURVEY
Your responses are analysed and a full report, including recommendations for improvements, goes to the University Senate and the Vice-Chancellor and informs our planning, services and program initiatives moving forward.
Some examples of ways we have responded over the past few years include:
- Improving access to researcher development training with recordings available on demand.
- Developing resources such as the EACP to clarify expectations and support communications between supervisors and candidates.
- Improving processes for the confidential reporting of concerns and complaints.
- Developing resources to give greater clarity about requirements for thesis submission and examination.
- Supporting initiatives to build peer networks, and connections within schools and institutes.
- Broadening the availability of Fee-offset scholarships.
We know we don’t always get it right but with your help we are continuing to work to improve our services, responses and support.
The 2024 GRES will be open until Friday 6th December and we look forward to hearing your voice through the survey and optional interviews when they are offered.
But we are always happy to hear from you at any time if you have any concerns or ideas for how we can do better at deangraduateresearch@csu.edu.au
