Three-minute Thesis Heats and the Finalists

Audiences were thrilled once again by the 3MT competition and the excitement of hearing 13 of our Graduate Research candidates race the clock to present their doctoral research in just three minutes with one PowerPoint slide!

To make it even trickier they have to use language that a non-expert audience will understand. We all know how difficult that can be.

We held our breath as one or two finished with less than a second to spare and marveled at the diversity of the research and the significant impact it will have for the wider world.

Two heats were held and our thanks to our judges who provided great feedback and ably dealt with the difficult job of selecting the 8 finalists. Thank you to: Aspro Lena Danaia, Aspro Dale Nimmo, Prof Leigh Schmidtke, Dr David Cameron, Prof Andrew Hall and Dr Holly Randell-Moon,

Congratulations to our finalists who will go on to compete for some great prizes in the face-to-face finals in Port Macquarie in August and also the opportunity to represent Charles Sturt in the Asia-Pacific competition.
