Three-minute thesis 2025 Finals

The 3 Minute Thesis final was held on 13 August 2025, at the CSU Riverina Playhouse. With an audience of over 150 watching (face to face and online) the 8 finalists presented their research in less than 3 minutes and with the use of 1 power point slide.

They represented schools and faculties across the university, and all presentations were of the highest order. Congratulations to all the finalists and those who supported them.

3MT winner Nushart Azam & Prof Sam Bowker (SDGS Faculty Arts & Education)

The overall winner was Nushrat Azam (see Nushrat’s reflection on her 3MT journey), who will now represent Charles Sturt University at the Asia Pacific 3MT® final. She also received $1,000 to go towards her research project.

The runner up was Jennifer Sharp, who received $750 in prize money. The People’s Choice award went to Alexander Tynan, who received $500. This was determined from an audience poll.

A big thank you to all the staff involved to bring this event together and to the judges who provided feedback to each of the presenters and selected the winner and runner-up.

3MT Judges were:
