🏳️🌈🎓 AWEI 2024 stats
Although progress has been made toward the inclusion and celebration of LGBTQIA+ folks there are still clear struggles. The Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) Employee survey 2024 found that LGBTQIA+ employees are less likely to be “out” at work than there were in 2022. This has decreased 12.9% over 4 years. LGBTQIA+ staff are 9% more likely to feel mentally unwell compared to their non-LGBTQIA+ colleagues and the visibility of allies is also decreasing with people stating they are “not allies” increasing 60.6% in the last 3 years.
